Koi Isopods (Porcellio Scaber)

Porcellio scaber are an ideal choice for those looking for the perfect isopod species. These small, hardy critters are easy to care for and thrive in a variety of different environments. Known for their unique many morph varieties and efficient cleanup crew characteristics. They are sure to make a great addition to any reptile, amphibian or arachnid enclosure. Temperature-wise, Porcellio scaber thrive in a wide range between 68 and 86°F and they do require some lighting, but not as much light as other isopods. Substrate-wise, porcellio scaber isopods need a mix of peat moss and coco coir to keep them comfortable, and we've found that they eat a lot of leaf litter.
